For a small business, that combination matters: the whole point of a password manager is that your team will actually use it, and NordPass is one of the easier ones to roll out. It generates and stores strong, unique passwords, autofills them across devices, and lets you share credentials securely without emailing them around.

How I evaluate a password manager for small business

Before the details, here’s the lens I use — because the “best” password manager for a small business isn’t the one with the longest feature list. I weigh five things: 1) the security model (is your data encrypted so even the provider can’t read it?), 2) team adoption (will non-technical staff actually use it, or quietly go back to a spreadsheet?), 3) secure sharing and admin control (can you grant and revoke access cleanly?), 4) price per user, and 5) how well it works across everyone’s devices and browsers. A password manager only protects you if people use it, so ease of adoption carries real weight here.

Security and how it works

NordPass uses XChaCha20 encryption and a zero-knowledge architecture — your vault is encrypted on your own device, so NordPass’s servers only ever hold data they can’t read. Practically, you set one strong master password (and ideally turn on MFA), and from there the app handles the rest.

Everyday experience

The day-to-day experience is where NordPass earns its keep. There are apps for Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android plus extensions for the major browsers, and they stay in sync — you save a login on your laptop and it’s there on your phone. Autofill pops up on the login page, biometric unlock (Face ID / fingerprint) means you’re not retyping a master password all day, and when you sign up for something new it offers to generate and save a strong password on the spot. The one habit to build — for anyone who’s never used a password manager — is letting it do that instead of reusing an old password. It’s a short learning curve.

A concrete example from my own vault: when I ran NordPass’s built-in Data Breach Scanner, it flagged 22 breaches tied to my accounts — including the infamous 2012 LinkedIn breach, which had exposed one of my email addresses alongside a hashed password. NordPass didn’t just flag it; it showed what happened, exactly which data leaked, and a clear fix: change the password, turn on MFA, and watch for phishing. Most people never find out their old logins are floating around from breaches like that — and for a small business, knowing which of your credentials are already compromised is genuinely useful. Initial setup and importing my existing passwords took only a few minutes, and browser autofill worked without fuss from day one.

Pricing varies by region and currency and changes over time, so confirm the current rate for your country before you buy.

Who it’s for (and alternatives)

NordPass is an excellent fit for small businesses that want strong, simple password security their team will actually adopt — especially if you already use NordVPN and like Nord’s ecosystem.
